  1. A month of overnight barnyard checks&lambs are arriving. Beautiful weather for them to run&jump around.The Nov born kids are doing well,too.
  2. We felt the earth shake last night again… 5.6 . The animals didn’t seem disturbed, probably too used to the trains passing by a mile away.
  3. Warm weather, cold weather, wet & warm again. It can quickly turn the health of the animals. We are watching closely for signs of illness.
  4. Spring lambs,many ewes,& 2 rams went to new homes this summer. We kept 6 Babydoll ewes and 1 Babydoll ram. All registered & tested codon RR.
  5. Can tweet farm updates again! We moved up a notch from dialup. Not cable, but it is a little faster.
  6. Another nice,cool day we don't want to waste.Fishing is still on the list if the wind dies down.May clean out the chicken house & disinfect.
  7. Our long,gravel driveway hasn't been graded in years except to remove snow. We took all day yesterday fixin' it up. Potholes gone for now.
  8. A dry,cool weekend,so will be outdoors whatever we do.Lots of choice in chores to do,but,none has to be done this weekend.So may go fishing.
  9. Shearing done for another year! Time to move the sheep to the field until December when they are brought to the barnyard for the winter.
  10. Day off work,but,an early start to prepare for afternoon shearing.Think we have about 15 to shear&that will take the shearer about an hour.
  11. 1st shots for all lambs today&wether four lambs. We'll check pens in the now grassy field are ready for sheep after the shearing next week.
  12. We nixed the regPygmyBuck purchase.He was too tall for our girls.Don't want to risk loss because of large kids.We will keep searching.
  13. We pick up a new Pygmy Goat buck today.There are not many registered PygmyGoats in Oklahoma,so,can't be too choosy.Have a pen ready for him.

  15. Looks like a break in the above average temps&some much needed rain forecast.Storms,too,so have to check that all animals' shelter is secure
  16. Finished banding tails yesterday&gave ivermectin shots to a few. 85deg,so flies&wasps are swarming.Hung some fly bags to keep them in check.
  17. Looks to be a great weather weekend. The fields & trees are greening up & time to spring clean the barn to make room for shearing.
  18. Cold&Damp weekend,but,have to be out to band some lamb's tails & give 1st shots to lambs soon to be out on green grass before weaning.

  20. 2 weeks ago we had a total of 30" snow&negative temps in 1 week.Now, 70 plus degrees for several days.Now the Pygmy goat kids are arriving.
