  6. Terrill: Supreme Court has $24-million in surplus funds that could be used to fill in court operations.
  7. Terrill: Corrections is model of what other agencies should be doing.
  8. Terrill: Four agencies asked for fee increase to help cover allocation reduction: CLEET, ABLE, Fire Marshal and Workers Comp Court.
  9. Terrill: All agencies expressed interest in deferred compensation.
  10. Terrill: five agencies already started furloughs. Additional cuts will mean RIFs and furloughs in four other agencies.

  12. DeWitt: Additional cuts would require RIF and further service reductions.
  13. Rep. DeWitt: current cuts generally absorbed through vacancies and moderate service reductions.
  14. next up: Natural Resources
  15. Peters: Use of stimulus funds has allowed most services to continue, but once that money is gone in FY2012, there will be big holes.
  16. Peters: Benefit costs continue to handicap all agencies.
  17. Peters: generally, all cuts have been absorbed, but further cuts will require furloughs, RIFs and closure of facilities.

  19. Cox: By accepting stimulus funds, we got strings attached that reduce ability to reduce services or eligibility.
  20. Cox: Solutions include targeted cuts, pricing controls, possible provider rate decrease.
