  1. Attention bike commuters: new Bicycle Access to Office Buildings law aids bicycle commute by mandating workday parking at office bldgs.

  3. December is AIDS Awareness Month: The prevalence of AIDS in northern & central Brooklyn is even higher than in other parts of our borough.
  4. Remembering that December is AIDS Awareness Month: The burden of this disease is severe- it is the 3rd-leading cause of death in Brooklyn.
  5. There are now antiretroviral treatments to control HIV. We’ve made great progress since 1981 to treat AIDS, and we must do more.
  6. On this 68th anniversary of Pearl Harbor, let us remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice during WW2 to defeat tyranny.
  7. First weekend in December: let’s remember it is Drunk/Drugged Driving Awareness and Prevention Month. Stay safe, always!
  8. We’ve been engaged in a long struggle for marriage equality. I remain committed to this civil rights and human rights issue.
  9. 25 million people have died of AIDS since 1981. We must educate each generation of young people and their parents, teachers, and mentors.
  10. It's World Aids Awareness Month. Since ‘81, over 25 million people have died of AIDS. We must find new ways to prevent and cure HIV/AIDS.
  11. In Albany today. We’re charged to ensure the financial viability of this state: we must take New York into a prosperous future.
