  3. No luck. Today was our last window of opportunity and the fog is not abating. The team will begin disassembling SIERRA and packing up.

  5. The last flight opportunity of this deployment is tomorrow. The forecast does not instill much hope but the team is standing by.
  6. Take-off was at 1:15am PDT. Conditions at Ny-Alesund are deteriorating so SIERRA is coming back.

  8. Today is a crew rest day. We are planning to fly another 10hr flight on Wed and again on Fri for our final flight.
  9. SIERRA has just landed its 40th flight - #10 for CASIE. With this flight we will have collected data over ~2500km of sea ice.

  11. The flight clocked in at 9hr50m. Had some more dropouts in the Iridium so need to debug. No flights tomorrow for crew rest.

  14. We just completed a 10hr flight, our longest yet! We had 750km over ice. If weather holds we plan to take-off again at ~1:30AM PT tomorrow.

  17. During our 25hr inspection we found a part that needs to be replaced on our engine mount. We should be ready for a flight tomorrow.
  18. We've solved our satcom issues and just completed a ~8hr science flight! Take-off tomorrow is scheduled for 4AM Pacific if weather holds.
  19. Weather cleared and we did a 1.5hr flight but continue to have loss of link with our Iridium modem. We continue to troubleshoot w/ vendors.
