  1. @Adamukun It'll be interesting to compare with this case: http://is.gd/5cgjX
  2. @Adamukun You haven't been looking at pictures of 浅尾 美和 in a Santa suit by any chance?
  3. @tokyoreporter Here's an account of a Osaka geisha strike in 1936/7: http://is.gd/5bXBH
  4. Guy has a blog critiquing hostess photos & bios because he has no money to visit the clubs himself: http://bit.ly/4AjcMN (via @matapro)
  5. @osharejin Apparently, they are expecting this to be a hit outside Japan and a way to promote gyaru culture.
  6. @neojaponisme It's loading so slowly I can't really tell but you're right that gyaru stuff is often more aimed at other gyaru than guys.
  7. There's now a Shibuya gyaru version of bijin tokei: http://gal.bijint.com/
  8. @Adamukun Thanks for the link. Sadly, couldn't have made it yesterday but good to know not to turn up a day late.
  9. @Adamukun Are you at the Pink Cow tonight?
  10. @neojaponisme Don't get me wrong, I enjoy your writing but that choice of topic for the site surprised me.
  11. @neojaponisme I'm not expecting an essay on Sakamoto Ryoma but drawing attention to Japan's love of porn stars seems a bit tabloid for CNN
  12. @danielbeattie Don't disagree but the author of that CNN article also wrote this: http://is.gd/58eY5
  13. @neojaponisme Err....how the world learns about Japan? http://is.gd/58cf5
  14. @neojaponisme Another pakuri debate: http://is.gd/58b9Y
  15. @tokyoreporter Given their all-over-the-shop strategy, that's not so surprising.
  16. @Adamukun Well, that's your fantasy role-playing all sorted for the night!
  17. @Mutantfroginc I've only seen half of them. I do slightly better with the 89 & 99 lists but still pretty poor given they are all "classics".
  18. @JamesHadfield I thought at first it might be some 1950s Italian film written in katakana.
  19. Japan's prefectures are going offline: http://is.gd/57s3B (English)
  20. Kinejun's all-time top 10 has no Japanese film before 1985. Their western film list includes 2008's "Gran Torino" http://is.gd/57r1P (JP)
