  1. Just spent two days "directing" our Vermeer documentary. It was exhilarating and fun, making sure we had what we'd need in the editing room.
  2. Hamlet: No naked Ophelia or bloodbath. Jude Law looks fit and saws the air incessantly, but isn't funny. Tall, majestic doors. Snow.
  3. Tonight I see Jude Law in "Hamlet." I'm hoping Ophelia will be naked and it ends with a bloodbath. But I'll be content if they make me cry.
  4. "Sleep No More" has a fine amount of nudity, if you happen to wander to the right room at the right time, but not enough blood for me.
  5. In Boston today to meet with Aaron Posner about our future production of "The Tempest" and see "Sleep No More." http://tinyurl.com/navudx
  6. Nov. 12, 8 p.m. P&T chat for charity with Todd Robbins at the Grammercy in NYC. Discounts at livenation.com with code: bgmf. Few trix, too.
  7. I'm in a Marriott Courtyard inn. Simple, quiet, near 7-11, and electrical outlets where I need them. It's like I designed it for myself.
  8. The Thousand Oaks audience tonight was so fanthusiastic it made me nervous. I felt the slightest mistake would betray their trust.
  9. Just finished reading the little book "In the Blink of an Eye," by Walter Murch, Coppola's favorite film editor. Pure insight and joy.
  10. Last night a guy volunteered for Magic Bullets. Penn almost picked him, then changed his mind when he saw the guy was dressed as a gorilla
  11. Last night a guy volunteered for "Magic Bullets." Penn almost picked him, then changed his mind when he the guy was dressed as a gorilla.
  12. This week "CBS Sunday Morning" at 9:30 interviews somebody claiming to be me about magic and the brain. But watch the lips. It's all a fake.
  13. Did Indoor Skydiving. In a vertical wind tunnel over a huge plane propeller. The instructor was twirling students like batons.
  14. "Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon...Carter, Reagan, Bush and Clinton." That's the names of Santa's reindeer on the new Dylan xmas album.
  15. I've often heard the claim that Einstein was religious. Here's a charming letter that settles that question. http://tinyurl.com/y9umsmx
  16. I drove Barry & Stuart, a Scottish magic team, to Red Rock National Park. They hiked in sport jackets with thin ties and pointy-toed boots.
  17. The genius author/thinker Martin Gardner watched his son Jim "text" to his pal Teller, using the P&T app. Martin loved it. Oh, my.
  18. I rarely tweet news links, but it's interesting to see that the question of global warming is far from settled. http://tinyurl.com/yzw5chr
  19. http://twitpic.com/kudtj - Self portrait on my iPhone using stuff I'm learning from Vermeer project.
  20. http://twitpic.com/kta8g - Hockney makes drawing iPhone pictures look easy. http://tinyurl.com/yb5h9en. I tried it. It's not easy.
