  1. Another Czech grandma Benes traditional Christmas food I'm making is houska. The house smells like Grandma's!
  2. Starting to prepare our Christmas feast. It's an open house, so iheavy apps and buffet service. Beef bourguigon is what I'm making today.

  4. Baking almond horns today.
  5. Making grandma's Benes' Christmas walnut cookies filled w/ buttercream.I'm using her original metal forms.Each form makes 1/2 of the cookie.
  6. Hosting Christmas this year and planning the menu. We're having an open house, so there's going to be lots of food and drinks all day long!
  7. Went to the opening of Capriott's Sandwich Shop in Milwaukee yesterday. The Bobbie and Capastrami were outstanding!
  8. Sunday's Chicago Tribune's Good Eating reran The Scrumptious Pantry's CANTUCCIONE (Tuscan Fig Cookie) favorable review. They're so good!
  9. Chi Trib's Good Eating published The Scrumptious Pantry's CANTUCCIONE FIG & SPELT COOKIE. Their phone has not stopped ring with new orders!
  10. Friday night's family dinner: grilled pork chops rubbed with Jamaican jerk rub with Spanish rice side dish.
  11. Making wild mushroom pate and halibut ceviche this morning for an afternoon birthday party.
  12. Beef braised in Pilsner beer with onions is dinner tonight ... with Brussels sprouts and parsley potatoes. Pumpkin pie is dessert.
