  1. Monroe County will sponsor 5 H1N1 clinics for high-risk persons ONLY on Saturday, November 21. Visit monroecounty.gov for details.
  2. Monroe County will host 5 H1N1 clinics on Nov 19 & another 5 on Nov 21 for high-risk persons. Visit our website or call 753-5600 for info.
  3. Monroe County will hold 10 public H1N1 clinics over a 2-day period (11/19 & 11/21). Check www.monroecounty.gov for details.
  4. H1N1 vaccine will be administered in doctor's offices and in large public clinics. More details soon.
  5. Health officials recommend getting your seasonal flu shot now, clearing the way for H1N1 vaccine which is expected in about a month.
  6. H1N1 vaccine expected in mid-Oct. Pregnant women & caretakers of kids 6 mo. & under will likely be first group immunized. More details soon.
  7. Health officials are still awaiting details of when H1N1 vaccine will be available. Mid to late October is the current thinking.

  10. Monroe County health officials have been informed by the NYS Health Department that a Monroe County resident has West Nile Virus (WNV).
  11. A fox that bit two persons in Webster has tested positive for rabies. Both people are receiving preventive shots.
  12. Flu activity has begun to taper. Health officials are planning for likely H1N1 vaccinations this Fall.

  14. Summer Camp Msg - Parents, campers & camp staff should work together to keep all healthy. Those sick with a fever should not attend camp.
  15. Persons with conditions like asmtha, diabetes and other chronic illness should call their doctor if they develop sore throat, cough & fever.
  16. There is widespread flu activity in Monroe County. There are 19 confirmed cases of H1N1 flu, and likely many more unconfirmed cases.
  17. Monroe County has 18 confirmed cases of H1N1 flu, and likely many more unconfirmed cases. Stay home for 1 week if you have flu symptoms.
  18. Monroe County has 11 confirmed cases of H1N1 flu, and likely many more unconfirmed cases. Stay home for 1 week if you have flu symptoms.
  19. Monroe County has 5 confirmed cases of H1N1 flu. People with respiratory symptoms and a fever of 100 or more should stay home for 1 week.
  20. Monroe County reported a case of H1N1 in an elementary school. The child fully recovered & is back in school. Officials expect more cases.
