Brad Miller made a hell of a shot. What a finish.

@ to quote Neil Young: "saw it on TV, bought it on the phone, when I got it home... it was a piece of crap!"

@ @ I only kept up with the Charlton era series, when it was Blue Beetle Bailey.

@ yeah, definitely. Blazing Combat is like the little brother of those books. I loved that recent collection!

@ absolutely. Those war books really cemented my love for Kurtzman.

@ yeah, but Dell's code was just as strict, it just wasn't as stupid that's all.

@ I remember in the 90's when they were trying to make a Sgt. Rock movie -- starring Schwarzenegger. That was as bad an idea.

Compare that to the amazing pre-code EC war comics: Frontline Combat and Two-Fisted tales are, IMHO, the best war comics ever.

I mean, few guys in Easy Co. died, often Rock charged a hill taking nazis out with punches, and gimmick stories were common.

As much as I liked Kanniger and Kubert's Sgt. Rock, I always felt it was fatally hampered by the the comics code.

hahah! The Sgt. Rock movie is not going to be set in WW2 but rather...the FUTURE. He better be punching robo-nazis!

@ Yeah, I'm familiar with the software -- I just don't like inking digitally. Just a personal preference.

honestly, inking tapered speed lines with a brush is annoying. I can't find a better way to achieve that look, though.

@ nope. That's the simplest way to maintain brush control.

@ same here. Its mostly for corrections, paste-ups and touch-ups for me.

I still ink tapered thick-to-thin speed with a brush. Is there an easier way to do it?

@ thanks, buddy. BTW, are you working mostly digital these days?

@ City has sucked since CTV bought them. Remember how good it was that they ran movies all night?
