  1. Having a quite lovely time writing unit tests and debugging some pretty nifty syntax-aware text processing routines.
  2. Wow! A friendly groundskeeper here at the caravan park brought us some freshly cut flowers, just like that.
  3. Drove 100km in search of LPG today - ultimately successful, but crazy. Got to find ourselves a GPS database.
  4. Moved to the town of Hammamet; much nicer caravan park here: Much roomier, nice trees, ground cover, friendly (too much so?) dog. Hooray!
  5. Based on our expenses travelling Italy plus 30% buffer/savings, we must earn $65 AUD/day (combined income), to do this forever. No typo!
  6. Good to be back in Nettle's comfort zone. Serious culture shock! Katherine got pestered by a guy who works at the hotel by the caravan park!
  7. Out to get groceries. We are objects of great curiosity, everyone stares! Most reply to 'Salut!' though. Raw sheep pelts in piles on street
  8. Hooray, another day of nuttin but programming! Feels like such a luxury. What a weird thing to say given our lifestyle.
  9. Was gonna fill up LPG tank today, but everything's closed because it's 'Eid-ul-Adha', the festival of sacrifice. Hardcore. http://tr.im/FVi4
  10. Set up in the least-worst camping site here in Nabeul - it's okay. $12/night is much better than we've been paying previously though!
  11. Getting ready to hunker down in Nabul on Cap Bon, just south of Tunis. Hoping to find somewhere liveable for a few weeks.
  12. In the wake of that little nightmare, opening a bottle of Sicilian white wine and a Buffy episode. Comfort time!
  13. Just came within an inch of getting Nettle bogged in deep sand on a beach at night. Rocked her out: Forward, reverse, forward. Feeling shaky
  14. Having lunch; waiter/host speaks some English and is nuts ("wooooww!!" every few minutes). Meat truck across road, 4 pigs on guy's shoulder
  15. No English here, so we rely totally on our French - happy to say we've got by so far! More or less. Off to the north: Beaches, forests..
  16. Safe and sound in Tunisia, with mobile Internet! Hooray! 3 hours on arrival navigating insane bureaucracy - make a good blog entry.
  17. Looks like we'll be on this ferry a bit longer that expected. We should be halfway there by now! http://yfrog.com/4fpwzj
  18. Had a fun but exhausting conversation with a friendly fellow passenger in French. She's a Tunisian living in Sicily, visiting for a festival
  19. Been on the ferry for 4 hours, barely moved (still got mobile coverage!). Dense fog appeared just as we boarded! Gonna be a long trip
  20. Very ad-hoc check-in and passport control procedure. No signs, no indication of what to do or where to be! Helpful bystander sorted us out
