  1. Read this week's #Guiding #Light synopsis and help Guide the Light regarding future Springfield happenings at: http://tinyurl.com/y8gspvf
  2. (For those wondering, no, Danny doesn't bring up Carmen. But then she's not technically dead. Or missed.)
  3. We say grace, and then we toast Bert. And Maureen and Henry and HB and Barbara and Leslie and Dina; the parents we all lost and still miss.
  4. And how Bert remained thankful, believing until the end that life was a miracle worth celebrating not just on Thanksgiving, but every day.
  5. He tells the Boudreaux that they'll always be family, too. And then he recalls Thanksgiving of 1984. After his mother had her leg amputated.
  6. Next, Ed talks about how thankful he is to have all his children and grandchildren together. He welcomes Daddy and Vanessa to the family.
  7. It ends: "Though not always plentiful... By the goodness of God, we are so far from want, that we often wish you partakers of our plenty."
  8. Before saying grace, Ed invites Clayton to offer a blessing, too. Clayton recites (from memory!) the prayer from the first Thanksgiving.
  9. Save for Cyrus having his hand almost all the way up Mel's thigh under the table (her life...), everyone's on their best behavior at dinner.

  12. The oven-timer beeps with near-perfect precision (where was it before Mel's Musketeer jab?). I have never been so happy to call, "Dinner!"
  13. Mel looks like she wants to slug Rick and tell him off. But seeing as how her daughter - and HER Daddy - are in the room, she does neither.
  14. Leah looks like she wishes she could disappear. And also like she wants to give her Daddy a huge hug. Being 16, of course, she does neither.
  15. Daddy leans over to whisper in my ear, "Your Dr. Kildaire is good on his feet! You have any idea he was this good?" I shake my head, awed.
  16. "Saying I'm sorry about our marriage is like saying I wish it had never happened. And I can't say that. Because then we wouldn't have Leah."
  17. "I was a rotten husband," Rick admits. "And I wish I could tell you I was sorry for all that. But I can't." We all blink in shocked unison.
  18. "Sounds kinky," Cyrus offers. (Now it's Mel's turn to look amused. Yeah, those two are perfect for each other. Why don't they both go away?)
  19. Rick takes a breath & tells Mel, "You're right. There weren't just two of us in our marriage. There were six. You, me, and the Musketeers."
  20. I stare pleadingly at Rick, begging him to fix the situation. Mel's going to ruin my Thanksgiving! (Oh, and yes, for poor Leah's sake, too.)
