  1. It's finally snowing out, but no accumulation yet. Hopefully tonight!
  2. One of our resident turkeys walked right up to the front door today. Lots of deer hanging around the 8 mile rd. parking lots too.
  3. The friends of Maybury have Holiday ornaments on sale at the Park Office. Hand painted Ne' Qwa ornaments for only $5.00. Only a few left!
  4. Happy Holidays! Did you know you can purchase DNR logo presents when you buy your annual passes? Mugs, Water Bottles, Teddy Bears.
  5. Winter is a great time for studying animal tracks. Come out and look for deer, turkey, squirrel, rabbit, etc. How many can you identify?
  6. It's sunny out, and warming up! Stop by the office for your annual pass today. The winds have finally slowed, a great day for walking!
  7. The 2010 annual passes are here. Pick them up to finish your Christmas shopping. $24 resident annual, $6 senior resident.
  8. The 2010 Annual passes came today! Unfortunately, we have not received Senior or Boating passes yet. Stop in for your regular annuals now
  9. Still waiting for the new 2010 annual passes to come via UPS. I'll post when they arrive. Great Holiday gifts!
  10. Just cleared 3 downed trees off of the hiking trails. Get out and enjoy this weather while we have it! The trails are in great shape.
  11. Just a reminder - The restrooms are closed for the Winter. Please use the vault toilets throughout the park.
  12. Just blew off all of the paved trails. It's a great day to take a sunny fall walk. We cut up one tree off of the MTB trail.
  13. Join us for the OWL PROWL, Dec. 5th at 6 PM. Meet at the Conc. Bldg. Owl calling, stories, refreshments. All free with paid park entry.

  15. The fall colors are reaching their peak very quickly. Get out for that fall hike now before all of the leaves are gone. Don't forget photos.
  16. Walked the entire mountain bike trail yesterday. Clear of all downed trees and only a few puddles left.
  17. Remember to use the self registration stations in the park if there is no one in the booth. Staffing can be sporadic this time of year.
