  2. 1 yr ago today: come on rocketsssss!!!!!
  3. 1yr ago today: parachute is open!!!!!
  4. 1yr ago 2day: parachute must open next. my signal still getting to Earth which is AWESOME!
  5. 1yr ago 2day: Peak heating in 40 seconds! Heat and energy generated by atmospheric entry would power 280,000 homes.
  6. 1yr ago 2day: Atmospheric entry has started, time to get REALLY nervous. Now I'm in the "7 minutes of terror."
  7. 1yr ago today: Cruise stage separation, signal acquired!
  8. 1yr ago 2day: Tank pressurization is complete. All is well. Next event is cruise stage separation at 4:39pmPDT
  9. 1yr ago 2day: The last 7 mins are nail biters. See vid at http://tinyurl.com/6ktlu6 Scariest: parachute opening & radar lock on ground.
  10. @chgowiz These reposts are from 1yr ago today. The team will "hail" @MarsPhoenix in late 2009 when Martian spring returns.
  11. 1 yr ago 2day: Entered the gravity well of Mars. My speed, relative to Mars, will go from 6,000 mph to 12,600 mph by time I hit atmosphere.
  12. 1 yr ago: I'm closing in on Mars! Who is going 2 sleep tonite? Not the team, too excited/scared/anxious seeing 5 yrs work come to last day.
  13. 1 yr ago: Navigation is looking good. Team waived off tonite's opportunity for flight path adjustment. May do 1 tomorrow AM if needed.
  14. @Anne_Frasier That was one of my favorite all time replies, btw.
  15. A reminder: in honor of the one year anniversary of landing, we're reposting tweets from exactly a year ago. (they'll start "1 year ago")
  16. 1 yr ago: Small dust storm blew over my landing site 2day, but now the weather looks clear for landing. 25 hrs & 1-million miles to go.
  17. 2 items that hinder survival, @Funkyheff: Deep freeze of the electronics & the weight of CO2 ice could break solar arrays.
  18. The liklihood of a signal after CO2 ice encasement (going on now thru Oct/Nov) is extremely small but worth a try.
  19. -@lgladdy The Mars orbiter Odyssey will attempt to "hail" @MarsPhoenix in late 2009 when Martian spring returns to northern hemi.
  20. 1 yr ago today: "Less than 2 days & 2 million miles before landing. Team has 1 last chance to adjust trajectory w/ an engine burn."
