  11. @G_Parker Personally think that anti-siphoning list needs major reform, as recommended by many. But abolition? Not so sure.
  12. @G_Parker Anything on which pay tv can outbid FTA. Which, given state of Ch 9. 10, 7 will in future be lots and lots. Grand final, Olympics
  13. @G_Parker This is of course not the only issue in the debate, but it is there.
  14. @G_Parker And there is large emerging literature on existance of growing infomation underclass in USA, where pay is more dominant.
  15. @G_Parker That is justification for anti-siphoning list. That key cultural events should not be available only to those who can pay
  16. @G_Parker I would say pay, by community cos seen as public gd, v pay by those who can afford it and choose it, necessarily excluding others

  18. @G_Parker I happen to think that @abcmarkscott is doing a good job of that, but that doesn't mean no issue about draw on taxpayer purse
  19. @G_Parker And I acknowledge both in this piece, and elsewhere, that public b'casters have to find new justifications in era media plenty.
  20. @G_Parker I am framing it as pay v public, but would dispute I present goodies v baddies frame. Much more complex than that.
