  1. I completed my fifth and final deep-space maneuver today, making the expected velocity change to put me on course to orbit Mercury in 3/2011
  2. Only ~ 15 months to go before I go into orbit around Mercury.

  5. I can't wait to tell the world about the geological history of Mercury. Craters. Rilles. Lobate Scarps. Expansion areas. Oh MY!!
  6. Did you know that Mercury has had been mapped completely around the equator. This will help the scientists when I go into orbit in 2011.

  10. @Fox4649 AU is not necessarily useful for distances from Sun. This is what the scientists are using to describe distances for MESSENGER
  11. I'm currently greater than 1.43 AU from Earth. I'll be the farthest away on Nov 20, @ 1.54 AU.

  19. @Fox4649 to form the Moon. Mer's surface has been impacted by asteroids & comets 2. It has difft minrls in abundance compared 2 othr planets
