  1. Taking down our last tomato plants of the season. Sigh! It'll be a LONG time until I get to have another homegrown tomato :(
  2. Putting the finishing touches on our new grey water system. Something to be thankful for this week.
  3. @tanabutler Byington Winery off of Bear Creek Road is beautiful.
  4. Struggling with my ignorance of digital photograph for what seems like hours now.
  5. Buying redwood 2 x 12's to make some new beefy garden beds.
  6. Phone meeting with entomologist to go over our excessive millepede issues.
  7. Digging up the grey water reservoir and revamping the system. Blurgh! Getting the brakes fixed on my truck. Double blurgh!
  8. Updating each blog post relating to my new 2010 class schedule. Making sure Paypal buttons are correct, revamping curriculum, adding photos.
  9. This will be great: Cabrillo College Horticulture Lecture by the fab Richard Merrill on Thu, Nov 19 http://zvents.com/e/600Pr/48
  10. Finally got my 2010 class roster set. Posted about my first workshop of the season: Early Spring Vegetable Gardening, set for Jan & Feb.
  11. Putting up a new hummingbird feeder outside my office window. We're starting to attract more of them and now they need a second feeder.
  12. We're sowing golden turnips from Baker Creek, also planting out garlic bulbs. A bit late, but they should be ok.
  13. Good time to build compost piles out of fallen leaves layered with green summer plants pulled out to make way for winter crops.
  14. Planting kohlrabi and romanesco broccoli. Eating Jessica's wonderful carrot, ginger and garlic soup for lunch. Super spicy but really good!
  15. Paying bills, ordering seeds, approving class lists, setting 2010 seedling sale dates whilst apprentices are harvesting crops.
  16. We're making new compost piles out of fallen leaves and chicken manure, sowing more carrots, transplanting lettuces and shelling peas.
  17. We're shampooing our dirty farm carpets, tricking out my new office, and working on what it would take to attend the 2010 SF Garden show.
  18. We're moving potted potatoes inside hoophouse to protect from frost, cleaning up after wind storm, and sorting through new seed deliveries.
  19. Met with a dog trainer to figure out what to do with our pack of three naughty mutts. Reward good behavior and don't reward the bad stuff.
  20. The vet here for my pot-belly pig's annual check up. She gets put under general anesthetic for hoof trimming, ear & eye cleaning. Expensive!
