  1. http://twitpic.com/r1u1r - Modeling before tools (and #UML) circa 1986. Doing art restoration today and scanning old stuff.
  2. Digging my way out of another modeling hole by writing 20 pages of notes and scenario illustrations. It almost all makes sense now...
  3. Wrote up some notes this morning on the early days working with Sally Shlaer. Might be good intro material for next book.
  4. Every modeling tool should support regular expressions. OmniGraffle rocks. Not really a modeling tool, but great for first drafts.
  5. Building a work flow model. A scaled down BPMN metamodel it seems...
  6. @bbum Wow. That sounds like an extremely good idea!
  7. Okay, it's for real now. I am speaking Dec 8th in Palo Alto, California here: http://tinyurl.com/66cyt8
  8. Have modeled a domain using accounts to limit user access to data sets and commands in any application domain. Platform independent.
  9. A quality dictionary is critical to articulate analysis. Needed a name for commands that do or don't act on data. Transitive/Intransitive!
  10. Okay, I think I'm ready to seriously consider writing another xUML/analysis book. Maybe that's just the coffee talking.
  11. http://twitpic.com/oqf7i - Here is a picture of me with one of MY favorite "experts".
  12. Looking forward to seeing Hodgman tomorrow night. http://www.cityarts.net/n.h...
  13. http://twitpic.com/oi5nv - Amusing start to my day seeing this on my brother's facebook page
  14. Caught myself model hacking (like I say not to do in my book) and have backed off to sort the problem in a tech note. (Hope that works!)
  15. RT @MellorSJ One of my favorite pieces of code: Manifest HellFreezesOver = FALSE; Until HellFreezesOver do { ... }
  16. http://twitpic.com/o4qma - I love the smell of models in the morning!
  17. @BrianDunning Santa Cruz??? That's the belly of the beast. (UCSC Alumni here). MIssed your talk at 21st amendment pub - so SF definitely!
  18. At cafe designing a security domain with a hangover. Maybe not the best idea. Waiting for the donut girl to arrive. (Aren't we all?)
  19. Building a model of a security user/admin domain. Just analyzing the requirements and sketching out ideas at the moment.
  20. @abstratt No problem... you had me worried for a second that the group was closed! Thanks for the interest.
