  1. Working in the main deposit of Box 1 again, pulling out loads of large fossils, yay! Sabertoothed cats and dire wolves and bison, oh my! :-)
  2. Filming with a group from the BBC today, and they were honestly one of the nicest crews I've had the honor and pleasure of working with <3
  3. Working in Box 14 today to keep out of the rain, brr. Finding fossils from birds, rabbits, and young dire wolves. Mostly hind legs and toes.
  4. Still here! I got a new phone, so Twitter should be easier to update. Still digging loads of fossils, currently in Boxes 1, 12 and 14. :-)
  5. New blog post is up, talking about our recent rain, and Spring Cleaning, and excavating, and show-and-tell with lots of great media outlets.
  6. Just completed excavating Box 7A! Yay! :-)
  7. Excited to see the Ice Age Encounters show visit our Page Museum tomorrow! Giant sabertoothed-cat? Yes, please. 11:30-1:30
  8. We're digging in the rain, just digging in the rain, what a glorious feelin', there's fossils again! Loads of them, including a sloth skull!
  9. In Box 14 news: a piece of baby mastodon skull, a golden eagle skull, a giant ground sloth vertebra, and dozens of bones from various birds.
  10. Nifty finds: a semi-articulated Western Camel (!), a baby coyote skull, and a baby mammoth arm bone! I can't wait to see what's in Box 14!
  11. In two hours, the volunteer next to me has found three toes, a tiny bird leg bone, and a rodent arm bone and lower jaw. I'm so proud!
  12. I got interviewed about Project 23 for the Scholastic News magazine today. I <3 nice journalists that remind kids that science is cool!
  13. Working on deposit 5B today before the rain hits, and my favorite thing we found so far is the lower leg bone of a stork. :-)
  14. We found our first camel fossil from Project 23 this week: a neck vertebra!
  15. Found a set of saber-toothed kitten sabers, and the scapula we just got out turned out to belong to our N. American lion, "Fluffy"! Yay!
  16. Ah, back working in the grid with lots of large fossils <3 Any day excavating the skulls of three different animals is a fun day in my book
  17. We've been finding a lot of pretty turtle and bird fossils this weekend, and now it's starting to rain! (Unrelated, yes, but still nice.) :)
