  1. @PFoz Yep.
  2. @igasu I don't. It's not a disposable medium. It's capable of the full range from ephemera to archival.
  3. I'll add that just because the principles I espouse are simple doesn't mean they're easy. They're anything but easy.
  4. I seem to have pontificated. Sorry, @ronmarz, @THEBRYANHITCH and everyone else! I'll get a mop.
  5. Why you gotta hate me like that? RT @cschillig: @KurtBusiek Busiek for EIC!
  6. @monstronaut No. It's about doing those 4 things well, and all at once. Not about one magic bullet. There isn't one.
  7. And if a discussion of how to get broader audiences reading comics is about continuity or the Spider-marriage, you're thinking too narrow.
  8. @james_samson If and when IDW does TPBs, I think they may do even better.
  9. @james_samson I think the Parker format is actually pretty sharp for the mainstream reader. Not the Martini edition, but the others.
  10. @MushfaceComics Indy artists face the same 4 things.
  11. @taterpie Sure. Absolutely. Target audiences are generalized because it's the only way to discuss them.
  12. @monstronaut You don't. Comics aren't analogous to romance novels, but to novels. Make different comics for different target audiences.
  13. @MushfaceComics I used to be in marketing & sales. Didn't like the hours and I want to tell MY stories.
  14. …that's aimed at them. Rule #1.
  15. Sell Spider-Man to all the women you can find who are interested. But do Sandman, too. And Scott Pilgrim. Target audiences with stuff...
  16. Sometimes I see discussions on how to sell more comics to women, that quickly devolve into "How do we sell more Spider-Man to women?"
  17. @james_samson But if you risk foolishly, also no reward, and no money left for a second try.
  18. @faitherinhicks I've seen saying that so long, I barely even need to pay attention while I type it.
