  1. @MatineeIdle You're behind even the most out-of-touch viewers on this one.
  2. @bloodroyale What were you emailing him about?
  3. @MatineeIdle I think the one I received for Xmas '92 was recently thrown out, against my will, after gathering dust for some 15 years.
  4. RT @MatineeIdle: @bloodroyale Jumanji with a J innit homes?
  5. The fact that Hollywood could even have *dared* to consider remaking it is as risible as it is depressing.
  6. Just watched Kiyoshi Kurosawa's 'Pulse' (2001). I have a feeling this may be a contender for the greatest 'horror' film of this decade.
  7. @bloodroyale Won't actually be there myself - going to see Mariee Sioux (pseudo Native American songwriter) at the Luminaire instead
  8. @bloodroyale If you get to speak to Ambarchi, ask him how he relates the (rather theatrical) Gravetemple stuff to his improv work.
  9. (Haven't actually seen The White Ribbon myself yet.)
  10. @bloodroyale And how many of those films were Hollywood production line junk? Try something European for contrast, e.g. The White Ribbon.
  11. The new Espers album drifts away from Wicker Man prog/pseudo-folk towards something more like light 70s Californian rock. Not bad, but...
  12. But rat baiting was not enforced: ratting came to the forefront as a gambling sport. At one time in London there were at least 70 rat pits.
  13. Wiki: In 1835, Parliament implemented the Cruelty to Animals Act, which prohibited the baiting of some animals such as the bull, bear, etc
  14. @jhansenout1 Hmm... I wish he'd drop the thrillers (good as they may be) and return to something in a fantasy/sci-fi vein, à la eXistenZ.
  15. RT @roughtradeshops Espers have cancelled the instore today due to... a faulty lute and not being able to get a visa for their mandolin
  16. @bloodroyale Still haven't seen that! K. Brownlow went on to become a historian of silent film, and he still presents things at the BFI.
  17. @MatineeIdle Since when did it become the thing to 'spend' Halloween anyway?
  18. @bloodroyale You might be interested in Paul Morley's video feature on Cowell/X-Factor: http://tinyurl.com/yc3e8bj
  19. @bloodroyale Definitely second time. I taped it once from FilmFour and we both watched it. Same director as original Texas Chainsaw...
  20. @bloodroyale What are people doing for Halloween? Avoiding commercial re-imported American traditions, if they've got any sense.
