  1. Is it wrong that 1 thing I'm most excited for vacation is the chance to spend an entire day just archiving and deleting emails?
  2. Me: coffee? Oh, cup is empty. cold coffee to microwave? Oh, someone cleaned. make more coffee? Oh, we're out. Gradually more depressed ohs.
  3. @DavidTomlinson Grandpa, dad & brother are all David Glen Fergason (2 go by Glen),but also uncles Charles, Paul, mom Marcia, cousin Nick etc
  4. @DavidTomlinson Many of my fam went to OSU, including Grandpa who wrestled there. Their MVP award for hockey is named after my brother!
  5. Writing a 50 word description of my store is completely defeating me right now. Maybe that means it's time to go home.
  6. Fave NYTimes review quote ever? "This book makes Martha's Vineyard sound like a minimum-security prison for the criminally self-absorbed"
  7. @bookavore I do always say that if it sells just one book, it's worth it. So I guess NYTimes may be off the hook this week, but I'm watchin!
  8. @ClintonBooks My fave quote ever from a 9 y.o. reviewer: "It fills the brain, but does not stuff it."
  9. @ClintonBooks We do a similar program. Some of the best and most accurate reviews I've ever read were from 8 year olds.
  10. @bookavore I don't think I've even looked at one of the kid bestseller lists in about a year. They really don't mean anything to us.
  11. @Joe_Wallace We do that here too... love getting reviews from kids.
  12. @mitaliperkins sometimes, they make a customer ask for it. Although, here, kids book sales aren't too affected by nytimes reviews.
  13. @mitaliperkins I've got some bloggers I trust, some reps I trust, some booksellers I trust. The reviews don't make me consider a book, but
  14. @mitaliperkins For me, not about the source, but the person.I've got fellow indie booksellers who I know if they loved a book, I'll hate it.
  15. Yeah, @nytimes, you listening? @oblongirl and I are going to take over choosing your kids books to review. Live with it.
  16. @oblongirl @mitaliperkins I just went through the section w/ an adult bookseller going "April, August, August, February, January, August..."
  17. @oblongirl One of the books is a book that I returned on Thursday. They're killin' me.
  18. I will never ever understand how the NY Times chooses which kids books to review, and more, WHEN they choose to do it.
  19. RT @BunchofGrapesBk: BoG picks 10 books we loved this year by female authors. http://bunchofgrapes.wordpr... #fembook
  20. If you have a bookstore selling books at your off-site event, then you change locations, you might want to tell the bookstore. #AUTHORFAIL
