  1. @SplinteredBoard Good looking family, Rick!
  2. @woodnbits down here, apple orchards cut down trees in March, and they will let you have the trees for free. You just have to cut them up.
  3. @woodnbits It's really nice wood, though. And smells like cider when you cut it. Nice!
  4. @woodnbits I've made two handplanes from apple. Similar to pear, but the grain is more pronounced and the wood darker. Plus, lots of knots.
  5. @woodnbits It really holds an edge well and planes beautifully. Too bad it's $20 bf around here.
  6. @hafwit muwahahahaha!
  7. @hafwit HAHAHAHA!! Thanks for that! Man, that cracked me up.
  8. @GarageWW Beeyooteeful!

  10. @hafwit sure--how 'bout a LN plane (top of page): http://www.lie-nielsen.com/...
  11. @jdanforth Any finish is food-safe once it's cured. But salad bowl finish might not affect the flavor of the beverage they way oil could.
  12. @WoodShepherd Gee whiz, it's either bone dry or torrential down pours where you live, eh?
  13. @dgriessmann Are those yours??? Cute!
  14. @RenaissanceWW I think @hafwit should send me some since I told him what it was. Dontcha think??
  15. @RenaissanceWW Looks a lot like rosewood. Nice stuff.
  16. @hafwit $10 bf here. It would make nice planes. ; )
  17. @AlleninOH You have my sympathies. I'd rather pluck my eyebrows with a chainsaw than see that movie.
  18. @hafwit Here you go. You totally scored: http://www.advantagelumber....
