  1. Studying doc rhetoric exam. I think I need to add more poetics rhetoric to my lists, find ways to bridge Rhet to comp ped to crwr pedagogy.
  2. AM: New measure for poem. Good Grist poetry meeting this afternoon. Sketch for poem this PM. Teach Matt Donovan's poems tomorrow. So lucky.
  3. Studying for Rhetoric doctoral exam. Then working on poems later. Sounds like a UTK reading planner for Nov. 20th, 7pm. Mark your calendars!
  4. Reading submissions for Grist and working on the new poems. Trying to plan a reading for Spokane in December. Anyone have connections?
  5. Hilda Raz reading tonight 7pm in Hodges Library Auditorium. Also, I'm making a huge pot of tortilla soup for the week. Then, work & poems.
  6. wants "to go further into the blank paper, past the white smirk of the benign."
  7. Seventy minutes of driving in various lots & I finally hook a spot. Wonder if I can sell this $162 parking "pass" back.
  8. Smells like puke on the Strip. Must mean the students have made it through the first full week of classes.
  9. Sent poems & revised few older ones. Now: notes on teaching James Wright, Joe Millar, Hirshfield, & L. Clifton. Then: back to comp studying.
  10. I am a sucker: buying poetry books I already have just because they are half off.
  11. Chapbook contest finalist again. That's 3 times now: finalist. Waiting on 5 more contests. Must now focus on finalizing full manuscript.
  12. Sending new chapbook manuscript off to two contests.
  13. A fav journal wanted a poem already taken elsewhere. <sigh> Then, I got solicited for poems by something called "Ginosko." Anyone know it?
  14. Found the new issue of Fourteen Hills with two of my poems in the mailbox. Issue looks great: Victoria Chang & Bob Hicok among many others.
  15. Microfilm + listening to Hem on ipod = good times. Later: The Hurt Locker with a friend. Then: manuscript revision.
  16. Generally, I have a love/hate relationship with microfilm. Can you guess which one it is right now? The answer might surprise you. Or not.
  17. Shortening the manuscript to send to some end-of-August chapbook deadlines. Couldn't hurt, right?
  18. Worked on revisions tonight. Will batch & package 'em up for submissions in a couple weeks. Would like to get at least 4 more ready to send.
  19. @mkallet You know, I think Dorianne, Joe, and Michelle Bitting read at Diesel recently. A great venue. Hope you can work it out!
  20. Nice note from Artful Dodge. Wanted two poems previously taken elsewhere. Asked me to send more work.
