  7. Concluded a great Issues update with Joan Pharr, Chair of the board for the Sandhills Chapter. Had good discussion about the chapter report.
  8. Webcast for chapter officer and Chapter Relations Committee went well today. Task force report posted on NCACPA web site this week.
  9. Speaking at the CFO Alliance Roundtable in the morning. Eliciting their interest in ifrs and sales taxes on professional services.
  10. Great news! Rep. Franks announced accountants will not be regulated under the new Consumer Financial Protection Agency being considered.
  11. Back from our Members in Industry and Business Conference where 561 members are participating. Great turn out in this uncertain economy.
  12. State Board will vote on our request to change advertising regs. We need CPAs to write and/or attend in support on 9/21/09. Info out soon.

  17. NCACPA urged NC lawmakers to exempt CPAs from HR 3126, Consumer Financial Protection Agency bill, in House Financial Services Committee.

  19. We joined AICPA in asking FTC to exempt CPAs from additional requirements in their "Red Flag" rules on identity theft. CPAs are covered.
