  1. Twitter's useful to get advance warning of traffic jams from ABQPOLICE. (But is it okay to not care what my friends had for breakfast?)
  2. Mixed feelings that my home town of Chicago lost the Olympics. It's all George Bush's fault, of course.
  3. All-day rain in Albuquerque, new life for my parched shrubs. Wonder if all 20 Indian tribes in New Mexico did a simultaneous rain dance?
  4. Visiting Red River, NM, an odd combination of Wild West and Alpine ski resort. Not sure whether to yell YEE-HAA or just yodel.
  5. Enjoying welcome rain in New Mexico, Big storm yesterday and still raining today. Washing my car Saturday did the trick.
  6. Comedy in the health care debate: senior citizens on Social Security and Medicare ranting about socialism.
  7. Watching sugar-crazed hummingbirds fight over the feeder outside my window. I fill the feeder daily. Memo: Buy sugar at Costco.
  8. Making advance preparations for the National Stuttering Association conference: http://www.westutter.org/connect/conferences.html
  9. Just got home from a meeting in Boca Raton, FL. Actually saw the ocean this time.
  10. Rain in Albuquerque! Forecast said it may be as much as a tenth of an inch or more.
  11. I delude myself that California is warm. Next trip to San Diego I'll pack for Michigan but bring sunscreen.
  12. Planning a busy week.... hosting a dinner for 35 next Saturday, flying to San Diego Sunday for vacation, launching a survey Monday.
  13. Just saw the first hummingbird of the season bellying up to my hummingbird bar.
  14. I've been refilling the new bird feeder every 2-3 days. I'll have to start getting birdseed at Costco.
  15. Opera last night. It's always the soprano who dies (never quietly). Why don't they off a contralto once in a while just to even things out.
  16. Great news! Your tax dollars will pay for a $7 million bicycle bridge across the Rio Grande. I think it's crazy but will use it anyway.
  17. Wondering whether Twitter can replace one-sided conversations with the cat.
