  2. He caught himself on the bathroom sink and was blasted by the noise of the household springing back to life! He joined the family for food.
  3. Stephen watched his old form slip into a restful sleep and felt the calmness of his life fully lived drawing to a close as he faded away.
  4. There was no one else around. The soothing sound of the waves crashed on the shore. He realized his ears had not been used for six hours.
  5. This foray into the future was markedly different than last, darker and bit more spooky. He saw his form on the porch watching the waves.
  6. Gingerly touching the dial he felt the rush of full acceleration from the top of a mountain to the same beach house he saw the first trip.
  7. Realizing he had been gone for a full six hours, he moved to reset the watch, then decided it best to "reappear" exiting the bathroom.
  8. Back in the library he completed the wall with the window and decided that would be enough for now. He carefully replaced all the books.
  9. Feeling the need to continue the search post haste, and recover the missing journal, he yearned to research this new silent dimension.
  10. Taking a drink from the glass in her hand he replaced it and surveyed the scene. Smiling at the awesome possibilities were within his grasp.
  11. The eerie blank glazes and breathless bodies took him aback. Frozen. He pinched Emily's cheek as he had hundreds of times before. Stillness.
  12. Thirst hit Stephen hard. he wandered to the kitchen to get a drink. He realized the diorama he had entered was that of his family mid meal.
  13. The more delicate tomes were strategically placed up high with the more accessible books being more run of the mill. Gramps you were clever!
  14. Books on the time wall had a connection to time, but there were all sorts of novels, magazines, texts, reports. "all parts of the puzzle."
  15. The seemingly random arrangement of books were grouped by topic, time on one wall, space on the other with literary classics by the hearth.
  16. The red book was a field guide of sorts on time and space, published early in the century it was a quick read. looking up he saw a theme.
  17. Moments turned to hours, only the dry sensation in his mouth let Stephen know that time had passed at all. The small red book now complete.
  18. Stephen skimmed through the top shelf then the next, then suddenly realized the glorious silence that fell around him, he sat to read.
  19. "People tell you more than they say before they even open their mouths." Gramps was right, there were things people were telling him.
  20. Gramps loved to read and knew a lot about everything. He was wise beyond his years - and would say "you just have to listen to people".
