Ray Smith would have celebrated his 28th birthday today. If you met him, you never forgot him. He was an inspiration.

@ That wasn't the question. The question was about aces and pitch counts. I responded with evidence that disputed your assertion.

Difference between CC and lots of pitchers: When he has 62 pitches after 3 inns and is wobbly, theres still feeling he will pitch 7 or 8.

@ If you have more sac flies than walks/HBP, your OBP will be lower than BA. Sac fly at bats count in computing OBP, but not BA.

Colon is always around plate. Yankees know that and have pounced. In 5th, Yanks had 4 hits. 3 came on 1st 2 pitches of at bat. Other on 3d

In Reddick's three seasons with Red Sox, he had 40 plate apps vs Yanks and never faced Sabathia. In 2d at bat vs CC as an A, Reddick hit HR.

When Cashman visited Yanks in Atl in June 2009 because he didn't like way they were playing, team was 38-32. Finished 103-59 and won it all
