  1. @probert06 assertion that NY's centrality 2 80s hip-hop meant it wasn't rich & varied is perfect example, all depends how you measure things
  2. @probert06 but i think there's too much subjectivity in any method of quantifying & ranking hip-hop's pros and cons, to go beyond guessing
  3. @probert06 this is why i probably wouldn't indulge it here cuz twitter is not the place to hash it out precisely, on my side or yours :)
  4. @probert06 i mean what i take as your assertion, that hip-hop's impact all in all has been more negative than positive (am i misreading?)
  5. @probert06 the position you're taking is is grounded on too many assertions that collapse under the weight of their subjectivity
  6. Watching my man Monk One spin at Von on bleecker st, crowd is getting hyped for the pete rock 'can't truss it' remix, always a good sig ...
  7. @Dead2Most yea but resume and twitter are difft venues, not fair to judge the same way-many tweeting "kronkite" wld take more care w/ resume
  8. I've seen handwritten notes/diary entries from Richard Pryor, *horrible* spelling, but IMO few minds were ever sharper or wiser
  9. @Fortitude1913 i think that's true for some, but for others it's just memory issue in difft part of brain than cognitive stuff that matters
  10. @kedra It's a fertile topic for sure but I'd bet a similar amount of people would've mispelled "Castro" et al in Cronkite's heyday
  11. btw I don't *really* think bad spelling means that much, lots of smart people are bad spellers (and I say that as a spelling bee champion)
  12. @shani_o no i agree twitter spelling trends don't *really* really prove anything about current state of media etc
  13. RT @daveholmes: "Sad snapshot of the media world Walter Cronkite leaves behind: 'Walter Kronkite' is trending."
  14. Other ultimate tribute to Cronkite: he was the man Slick Rick would compare himself to, when he wanted to impress women http://tr.im/sSR
  15. ultimate tribute to Cronkite-TV's struggle to properly cover loss of the man who set history's standard for that very task http://tr.im/sSPp
  16. @profblmkelley @harrislacewell agreed, but then again I thought far too little of MJ's coverage qualified as collective cultural examination
  17. @xenijardin i think it's sad that people will place their deaths in opposition this way..each was important to many people in their own way
  18. ok credit where it's due, guest host on Hardball broke the silence & called Pat Buchanan out, & led pretty good Affirmative Action segment
  19. @MsQuote I do appreciate Pat when he analyzes DC's backroom maneuvering, but you can't ever leave him alone with the racial liquor cabinet!
  20. awkward day on MSNBC, acting like they didn't see Buchanan flip out last night..like family pretending they don't know dad's alcoholic
