  1. Countdown to House vote feels more like 1st round of the playoffs, not the World Series
  2. Obama lunch guests: Brooks, Cillizza, Gergen, Meacham, H Fineman, M Liasson, Gail Collins, Mike Allen, Josh Marshall. My invite was lost
  3. I often joke Obama has been on every show this side of Food Network. Now Michelle will be hosting Iron Chef America. Last frontier conquered
  4. Yanks won it all when the Stadium opened in 1923; have done it again in the first year of their new Bronx palace.
  5. The Yanks are back. And in New York, anything less than a Series championship would have been seen as failure.
  6. Mariano Rivera, like taking it to the bank. At least, the banks before the Wall Street collapse forced them to beg for taxpayer bailouts.
  7. Hideki Matsui is on fire! 7-1. You can feel the Yanks exorcising the ghosts of the failed playoffs of the last nine years.
  8. Yankees getting close to the prize. Sense of anticipation is building. More exciting than NJ and Virginia COMBINED!
  9. Bloomberg by 4 pts after spending a small country's GDP? That is a major protest vote over his reversal on term limits, among other things.
  10. The usual Countdown rerun, on Election Night?
  11. I switched over to the HBO movie on Obama and now see Christie has won in NJ. I figured Corzine had too much going against him.
  12. If the NY mayoral race stays close, lot of pundits gonna have plenty of 'splain' to do. Bloomberg was supposed to crush Thompson
  13. When I worked in NJ, I never thought the eyes of the world would be on Trenton the way they are tonight.
  14. Equally interesting: whether ATL elects 1st white mayor in long time and HOU elects 1st gay mayor. Totally overshadowed by VA,NJ & NY-23
  15. MS projecting McDonnell in Virginia, to no one's surprise. Took 58 minutes after the polls closed.
  16. If any of the candidates are patronizing hookers, Chris Matthews has the right guest. Eliot Spitzer, on the set.
  17. Positive spin: Yanks want to win it in front of home fans. Yeah, that must be it.
  18. Also, A-Rod seems to have done something about that post-season choker image.
  19. Wow! Yanks blast into the lead after some smart baserunning by Damon. Little things lead to big things in baseball.
  20. Garry Trudeau is a funny guy on Twitter. We chat about Roland Hedley and the art of comedic compression. http://tinyurl.com/y8tuexz
