  1. :-)
  2. Well, I need to get back to sleep. I need to be bright-eyed and bushy tailed today.
  3. With a nice dose of John Mayer lunkheadedness thrown in for good measure.
  4. The poor man's John Ondrasik. Not saying much, considering Ondrasik is the poor man's Chris Martin for neocons.
  5. Apparently @L_Underwood was the best we could find.
  6. I hope that @VegasWalkinDude has managed to attract some people of artistic worth to his side. There certainly aren't any in Boulder.
  7. There wasn't even a decent *counterculture* worth belonging to.
  8. (That doesn't say much, admittedly.)
  9. Few films worth watching, few books worth reading, almost no music worth listening to. And television was at its lowest point in history.
  10. And I have to say, I'm glad all of those people are dead! Twenty-first century culture was a cesspool.
  11. But most "geek culture" is, or was, created by talentless hacks. Smith, Whedon, Davies, Tarantino, Gaimain...talentless hacks, all of them.
  12. And I admire Tolkien and Herbert for their ability to create convincing world models, although both were clumsy stylists.
  13. Okay, do I appreciate Asian animation? From an artistic standpoint, yes.
  14. And dear God, do not get me started on the subject of fans of Lost.
  15. But I have no idea how I'm supposed to take someone seriously if he believes unironically that the prequels "raped his childhood."
  16. The only thing to recommend them are the special effects, which, to give them their due, are indeed impressive.
  17. I mean, take the Star Wars films, all six of them! Awful dialogue, terrible acting. No original ideas in the scripts.
  18. And there's nothing more irritating than a "fan" of something.
  19. Honestly, the destruction of popular culture is probably one of the best things that happened as a result of the superflu.
  20. If I remember correctly, she also posted videos of herself playing World of Warcraft to YouTube.
