  1. Henry Fonda and Audrey Hepburn in _War and Peace_. It may not be Tolstoy's W&P, but Fonda and Hepburn made it worth watching.
  2. @FLWbooks Loren Eiseley's _The Immense Journey_--one of the great ones--should be in everybody's home and regularly reread.
  3. James Burke's _Connections_ One of the great documentaries. If most TV programming was like this, I would still be watching TV.
  4. New blog post: Some comments about _The Wages of Fear_, one of the most tension-filled films I have ever seen http://tinyurl.com/5urlla
  5. @Scott_Wood I will try that. I had 25.4, when I upgraded to 26.4, and it was working ok, more or less.
  6. I think I'm going to remove 26.4 and go back to 25.4, if I can.
  7. @Scott_Wood Well, the response to your message did show up.
  8. @Scott_Wood It lists the messages in "mentions" but shows no tweets . This time it says it's updated with 3 tweets, but shows nada.
  9. @Roberts_Road Someone else with problems with 26.4? Well the columns are still there, but no messages. I'm going to try again shortly.
  10. Next up is the selection for an SF book club--Ian McDonald's _Brasyl_. I will be alternating that with Greg Benford's _Tides of Light_.
  11. Also finished John Maddox Roberts _SPQR I: The King's Gambit_ for a mystery book club sponsored by Clues Unlimited Book Store.
  12. Working on books selected by book clubs I belong to. Just finished Anthony Trollope's _The Duke's Children_, last of the "Palliser novels."
  13. @annsbudro Ok, you expected a fantasy with magic, wizards, dragons, & so on. Yes, i can understand your disappointment--no magic here.
  14. @annsbudro What problems did the title _Sorcerer_ cause for you?
  15. @annsbudro One of those who commented on the film said the same thing. "Sorcerer" was just something somebody had written on the truck.
  16. Has anybody seen the _The Sorcerer_? It's a remake of _The Wages of Fear_, with Roy Scheider and directed by William Friedkin (The Exorcist)
  17. The Wages of Fear: One of the most tension-filled films I've ever seen--just a simple plot, few special effects, & great acting & directing.
  18. New Blog post: short comments--Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey, Pitch Black, Batman:The Dark Knight, John Harvey.. http://tinyurl.com/5urlla
  19. @Scott_Wood Spend time in the Senate & then go for the WH in 2016? If Obama is reelected, then 2016 will be wide open for GOP and DEMs
  20. @Scott_Wood By resigning now, instead of waiting until 2010 when her term is over, she gets more time to prepare for the primaries.
