@ Wouldn't it make more sense to tell ministers to put classified papers in a briefcase..? What is wrong with these people?

@ Does Volt engine only charge battery, not drive wheels?
Been looking at PIA.org sad how few are on sale and how many are 'concepts'

@ But is there any tech reason why Prius couldn't do same? Why not use battery until flat rather than cutting out at 30mph?

@ Thanks for the explanation. I think Chevy is overdoing Volt hype. It's not 'revolutionary' drivetrain, it's different programming.

@ And is the Volt even an EV? It seems more like a hybrid to me. Not that that would be a bad thing, but it's confusing.

@ My biggest beef with EVs - over hype. Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf, Tesla S. Yes, you've got my attention, but I can't actually buy one.

@ @ Physical controls can be found by touch w/out taking eyes off road, not w/ a touchscreen.
But it's cool and I'd buy one!

@ @ Wouldn't solar AC be more use in a full EV, especially one with a glass roof! Not sure that a touchscreen is good either

@ @ I'd buy a Tesla S tomorrow if I could, but why is roof glass, not solar panels? Should run a/c on it's own when parked!

@ @ What's in it for auto makers to keep EV's off the roads? I can see why oil co's lose out but why does that matter?

@ People like idea of hydrogen because it's most like what they do now. That's obviously why the oil companies like it too..!

@ Don't want to add to tweet overload, but forums are closed to new members, so there's really no other option to join the debate.

@ Can't see Season 14 in US yet, but according to Wikipedia, they built an electric car last week. I assume it didn't end well..!
