  1. FB Exercise of the Week is a Split Squat. It is great for developing leg strength, stability & power. It targets all the major leg muscles.
  2. TIP-When performing cardio & weight training in the same workout, it is usually better to do your weight training first & cardio at the end.
  3. FACT- Joint movements occurs in 3 planes of motion; Sagittal, Frontal & Transverse. Joints can move in more than 1 plane at once.
  4. TIP-Strength training helps improve posture by increasing muscular strength & tone and improving bone density, ligament & tendon tensility.
  5. FitnessBuilder Exercise of the Week is a Bench Dip. It's great for developing the Triceps, Chest & Shoulders and can be performed anywhere.
  6. TIP-For minor injuries remember the RICE principles; Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation.

  10. TIP-When doing dumbbell exercises try using unilateral, reciprocal or alternating movements rather than just bilateral to add some variety.

  12. TIP-Using unequal weights for dumbbell exercises can add an extra challenge to even the most basic exercise. Start with a 5lb difference.

  18. TIP-When performing squats & lunges etc. be sure to keep your feet flat & your knee tracking over your foot. Don't let it buckle in or out.
  19. TIP-Generally it is better to perform larger, multi-joint exercises before smaller, single joint ones like a bench press before a pushdown.
  20. TIP-In choosing the right size swiss ball, when seated your hips should be slightly higher than your knees with your feet flat on the floor.
