  1. Speaking of Severitus, looking at FF.net it's crazy how many new Severituses pop up. How many will get FINISHED though? That's the question.
  2. @victoriahaden I think they're SUPPOSED to be sort of similar. It's what people want, which is why the whole thing is so popular.
  3. @attackfish Ha ha... LOL. That's about how my writing is going, too. I wasn't crazy enough to do NaNoWriMo, but I'd hoped to update my fics.
  4. I've been wanting to re-read some Severitus stories (and look for new ones), but since I'm writing one myself I'm kind of scared to do that.
  5. @LucklessLucy I might challenge myself to write that much as updates for my stories. I don't really have ideas for original fiction.
  6. @BriarRoseBlack You're welcome. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it. It really strikes me as creative and full of potential.
  7. @attackfish No one should feel bad about taking time off if needed. What kind of work is more important than taking care of yourself? :-)
  8. @victoriahaden When I'm sick I wouldn't even think of writing. I'd hate to see what my brain would spew out. :-D
  9. @sweetslytherin A good beta is honest, gives criticism and not just praise, points out errors and suggests improvements, knows canon well.
  10. @sweetslytherin I don't think it matters. If it's riddled with errors, readers won't continue reading whether the chapter is long or short.
  11. @sweetslytherin And it's chapter one? I'd go over your outline (if you have one) before continuing, in case your premise needs tweaking.
  12. @attackfish I read it. I had noticed some of the things you mentioned, especially in the HP fandom, but I admit I was oblivious to a lot.
  13. @EsmeraldaElle The NL/DM on your lj? I like it. It's angsty with a hopeful ending, rather than a sickeningly happy one. I like the pairing.
  14. Harry received a personality transplant without me noticing (this is why a beta is so good to have), so the next chapter is delayed a bit.
  15. I also hate it when I have a great idea that's very minor, but still refuses to fit into one of my existing fics. I'm NOT starting new ones.
  16. I hate when I write a particularly awesome sentence/paragraph, then as events unfold it doesn't fit and has to be edited out. It's PAINFUL.
  17. After blearily writing late into the night, I'm always terrified I'll come back after a good sleep and find that it's all complete crap.
  18. @sweetslytherin Probably not this week. Maybe next week. The beta process can take several days even after I'm done writing, which I'm not.
  19. Darn plot bunny! No, you can't stay, you rotten ball of fluff! Shoo! Shoo! Go live in the challenges section at P&S. Good riddance!
  20. I'm always looking for ways to give common fanfic scenarios a bit of a twist. There isn't anything unique left to do in this fandom, really.
