  1. Reading & replying to emails promptly "involves" the #CIO with her team. Keep processed & unprocessed folders.
  2. Picking & executing few large projects successfully is as important to a #CIO as not failing them.
  3. What are the best initiatives for first 100 days of a #CIO ? Look no further than already budgeted items & reshape them to your strategy.

  11. Easiest way for a CIO to disfunction IT is by NOT letting people know of their future. To belong to CIO's Plan, team should know their work.
  12. Buying hardware is NOT the First Step in Business Intelligence. Finding customers that want it & the right team to do it are the first steps
  13. Deskside support is expensive for CIOs but it is the best window for in-person customer service. Don't cut it. Cut an Oracle license instead

  15. A typical CIO has 2-4 years. There will always be that inefficient guy under the CIO with 10 years before & after. All is part of the game.

  19. We know Hardware-CIOs, App / MIS-CIOs & non-tech CIOs. We don't see many CIOs from DB or Network dept because they lack breadth of business.
  20. When one of the CIO's report has same line item, (except Ops) for year after year, cut it by half.
