  4. GOP Senators gave Dems little choice but to pass bill and move forward. Too bad, though, as the bill needs work. Get it together, Senators!
  5. Climate Bill: Dems to watch: small Ag state senators. GOP'ers to watch: Snowe, Collins, McCain, Lugar and Graham.
  6. Countdown to Copenhagen. Don't get to worked up. The real game is still in the US which is about the Senate, which is about Agriculture.

  15. Climate bill as free stimulus... Congress needs to send market signal that oil is out, home grown RE/EE is in. Investment and jobs for US.
  16. Educating nonprofits about how certified carbon reductions equal quality reductions. Standards matter!
  17. Carlson Plan: Existing homes can reduce energy use by 50-70% cost effectively w/ solar HW, insulation, caulking & geothermal heat pump.
  18. Carlson Plan: New bldgs would use 50-60% less energy/CO2. Positive cash flow.
  19. Carlson Plan: require all homes and bldgs to do all cost effective EE & RE. New homes would use 80-90% less energy, for positive cash flow.
  20. How bad is it if the US does not have climate leg by Copenhagen? Not so bad. The writing is on the wall. Not ideal, but manageable.
