EqualizerTricks

  1. The new default configuration file '4-window.all.eqc' covers all major Equalizer features. Use 'l' to switch feature by switching layout.
  2. To switch decomposition modes at run-time, define multiple single-view layouts with different compound trees for one canvas.
  3. To tweak build options without affecting the svn tree, put them in make/local.mk, e.g., 'ARCHFLAGS = -arch i386' on OS X.
  4. You can use the VRML-mode of your favorite editor for syntax-highlighting and formatting of .eqc configuration files.
  5. When using active stereo with task decomposition, the source channels do not need a quad-buffered visual.
  6. Use the 1-window.mixed.eqc configuration file to see all basic decomposition modes (2D, DB, DPlex, Stereo, Pixel) in one window.
  7. Setting EQ_ABORT_WAIT to 1 before launching the eqServer will cause clients to go in an infinite loop on assertion. Then attach a debugger.
  8. Use '-- --eq-config <filename>' to launch Equalizer examples server-less with single-node configurations.
