  1. Thought for today: Contrary to popular belief, history never repeats itself. Yesterday's solution is tomorrow's problem.
  2. @mcgoverntheory process is not a substitute for skill (CxOs please take note)
  3. Thought for Christmas: A gift given with expectation is no gift at all - it's a trade
  4. @bankervision You must be looking forward to spending your first Christmas in Manchester ;-)
  5. #EAMantra (20) They won't really get it until they use it. If they use it and still don't get it, you failed.
  6. Thought for today: Simplify the problem, and the solution will simplify itself.
  7. @DP_DWP Um - I think your addition to my original statement contradicts it? ...although it does create a tidy little rhyme ;-)
  8. @richardveryard Absolutely - attacking airbrushing whilst ignoring cosmetics is a pointless hypocrisy
  9. @malcolmlowe Or... "rich" as in "likely to cause indigestion"?
  10. RT @richardveryard: EA maturity models: http://bit.ly/4CIzna <-- Added my thoughts on "cheaper than free" EA
  11. #EAMantra (19) Do not follow the path of least resistance... Create it.
  12. @toddbiske Somewhat skewed by outsourcing of course (some orgs may be more IT than quoted, but not recognised as employees)
  13. Thought for today: There are only two options; total ignorance or partial knowledge... so don't get too upset about having the latter
  14. @toddbiske Banking - roughly 10% IT employees to total employees in UK (some other sectors ~2% so wide variation)
  15. Ah euston. Why is my train only on time when i'm running late?
  16. @chrisdpotts Was vision to lie to the customer to get the business then treat them appallingly? In which case bad vision well delivered.
  17. @mcgoverntheory Because when success happens they seem to believe (wrongly) it was process rather than people that created the success.
  18. Thought for today: When you have an ocean to cross, tackling it in small steps is not always a survivable option.
  19. @pauljansen Works perfectly for me - this is exactly how I see the role of Architect fitting into the overall roles and responsibilities
  20. @pauljansen This is why I prefer to distinguish between "visionary" and "architect" to clarify roles (and a person can perform both roles)
