Took the night (sleeper) bus from Hanoi to Hue. Just spent the day walking around the Forbidden Purple City where the emperors lived.

Just arrived at our hotel in Hanoi. Apparently Vietnam blocks facebook, but not twitter. China blocks both, Laos neither. Go figure!

Almost all the gers we visited had solar panels and a satellite dish. Dung or wood fires. These days they all have metal cookstoves.
