  3. Elvie's Turo-Turo, longtime Filipino fave on First Ave., in possession of landlord; marshal's notice on door dated 10/6.
  4. That was the hope for last weekend, too.
  5. Led Zeppole, new dessert spot from pizza guys at Artichoke, waiting only for Con Ed and may open next weekend.
  6. Kitchen also sent out a stray trio of anchovy buns. The bartender agreed with my entreaty: They shouldn't go to waste.
  7. Breslin kitchen slammed for Fergus Henderson brunch; shortly after I ordered, they put a half-hour hold on further orders.
  8. East Rock n Rolls, sibling to East Dumpling House on 106th, now serving fro-yo, tea lattes on Broadway and 112th, just south of Columbia U.
  9. Former fry joint Famous Seafood, 125th St. just east of Broadway, soon to be a Checkers, says a sign covering the window.

  15. It was a real choice whoopie pie, and after I finished it I didn't want another, at least, not until another day.
  16. I like pumpkin. I wanted a whoopie pie, and for my sins they gave me one.
  17. Toss-up between cookie and whoopie pie, same flavor. "How much pumpkin do you want in your life?" I"m asked.
  18. The floor has been poured at the upcoming Meat Hook/Brooklyn Kitchen lab space. Will be open no later than Nov 1, I'm told.
