  1. California fall: yellow Chinese pistache w/pine, pear, & bottle-brush. http://brizzly.com/pic/JW4
  2. Hysterical. Dogs racing back & forth across deck like rolling thunder, barking madly, trying to chase away doe who is utterly unconcerned.
  3. Reading Russian history in preparation for trip. Only up to the Scythians. At this rate should be ready to go some time in 2014.
  4. Took dogs to park, returned home to find Russian visa waiting. Now sitting in perfume from blossoming lemon tree, drinking chai & green tea.
  5. Wardrobe meeting, props and medtech meeting, a little casting, and soon I'll be ready to... take notes home for a rewrite over the weekend.
  6. I've also got a gingko and a liquid amber (flamboyant as a maple, but not as big as the one in the Parc de Rentilly: http://bit.ly/6uMEq6 ).
  7. Annual tree-pruning day here. Oaks, ashes, pears; Jerusalem pines, bottle-brush trees. Aren't the names of trees a pleasure to say?
  8. 1:30 am. Next draft out and I'm home, dogs walked. Contemplating the morphing of newspapers: http://bit.ly/6XNidf
  9. @oliviawilde Prague is high on my list of places to see. Art Nouveau architecture makes me weak in the knees.
  10. Doing line-by-line office rewrite, for the second publication of many more rewrites to come. Ah, television.
  11. Dog #1 in garden. Chinese pistache trees on hill turning bright yellow. How to tell Dog #1 I'll be rewriting all afternoon & evening?
  12. Oops, think I just stepped on a butterfl--
  13. Revising bits of plot w/out affecting other bits of plot is like the crew of the Enterprise stuck in the past, trying not to change history.
  14. Cool, glittery November day; lemon tree all purple buds and white flowers. Make tea for weekend of re-writing from Friday notes session.
  15. In answer to your questions: the just-fooling-around notes are shorter.
  16. Last two days: the just-fooling-around notes. Today: the serious notes.
  17. Thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes! Here in the office, I suspect there will be chocolate. And notes.
  18. 2:30am. Got home, reassured dogs I was not abducted by coyotes, took them for walk, ate spicy dumplings. Not looking forward to early AM.
  19. @JoseMolinaTV You are right about beans. Tho anyone who says "do the thinking for both of us" is kinda asking for it.
  20. Nearly midnight and still at work. By the time I drive out it'll be my birthday! Think I'll celebrate in January, when I'll have more time.
