  2. Ooops, almost forgot! "The" biggest compliment of the week was from a 7th grader who said, "you smell good." What more could one ask for?
  3. in San Jose loading up for performances. Hey... don't storytellers deserve drivers and roadies? Any volunteers out there (free sandwiches)
  4. just finished Mesa Verde Library and had a great time, now on to an evening performance at Whittier Public Library. Wow, I love this life!
  5. Arrived at the library and 7 kids were already waiting an hour ahead of time because they heard I would be here. How cool is that?
  6. on the way to Mesa Verde Library in Costa Mesa to do Music & Storytelling. I love doing libraries, they are often the heart of a community.
  7. 4th grade girl wanted to share a secret with me today, "Baba you did storytelling for my brother in jail in juvenile hall. He knows you."
  8. I'm anxious! Can't wait! This morning I'll tell stories to my granddaughter's 3rd grade class. The excitement in her eyes is so priceless.
  9. 4am thought to self: gray hairs taking over the old goatee but none on my head. Maybe this means I should be thinking more and talking less?
  10. All booked up with schools and performances for the week I'll be in Northern California. Thanks facebook friends for making that possible.
  11. Ok I wasn't going to write anything else but when a child tells you they love you and your storytelling, you gotta share that with somebody.
  12. I just revealed my secret place for gaining knowledge to a group of 4th graders: "The Library." They've been but see it with new eyes now.
  13. today will be workshops with 3 different classrooms of 4th graders. My secret? Administrators expect me to teach and tell, I expect to learn
  14. 3rd grader question to me: "are you a king?" My answer: "yes and so are you."
  15. I just completed three 3rd grade classrooms and have two more left. I'm exhausted but feeling fortified by the children's smiles & laughter
  16. 4th grade girl asking a question: "is there symbolic meaning in the fabric you choose to wear Baba?" My response: "Wow!"
  17. Just finished a workshop with a group of 4th graders. What a magical age! Accepting of enchantment but grounded in everyday experiences.
  18. Visiting 3rd grade classrooms all day today and I just finished my first session. Is it fair to call this work?
  19. truck is loaded, instrument tuned and clean underwear appropriately applied. Now I'm off to the OC Storytelling Festival to tell tales.
