  1. @jamrock RLY.
  2. The equipment stacks have a laminated list of contents, including details for each "draw" [sic] in the stack.
  3. Patient worried about headache. Turns out nurse failed to properly explain side-effects of medications to patient...
  4. @MadamePinkness view of smacking is that it doesn't work and reinforces that violence solves probs. Synpathetic to end-of-tether though!
  5. @MadamePinkness he seemed to imply that it was the reason for the collapse of society. Which is obvious bollocks.
  6. @johnningalong I challenged his attitudes (politely and inoffensively). He claimed that Richard Dawkins had more faith than him?
  7. Excellent. The padre has advocated the smacking of children. Says safeguarding is bumph and has slagged off atheism and secularism.
  8. The padre is telling someone about child protection gone mad. Annoyed because his source of informationis clearly The Sun and Daily Mail.
  9. Ah, the padre has turned up to patronise the patients with his comfort from his imaginary friend. That'll help then...
  10. Arse. Nurses were meant to take blood pre-infusion. Values meaningless AFTER product infused.
  11. Running at 160 ml h-1. First 50 ml is in.
  12. @johnningalong I'm allergic if it is in contact for too long, but 3 hours should be OK
  13. @knittingnelly particularly when one has manhair.
  14. Far be it from me to judge, but nurse has just picked up a calculator in her gloved hand. I wonder if that breaches infection control?
  15. Nurse to pt: "Mr Jones can you tell me your name?" (named changed to protect the patient)
  16. @knittingnelly its a patch of transparent sticky stuff which goes ove the cannula to hold it in place
  17. @MadamePinkness well, technically should occur before administering any prescribed treatment, but in the old unit the nurses knew the pts
  18. @knittingnelly cannulation involves a needle and isn't pain free but otherwise the worst part of the day is removal of the Vecofix
  19. Disappointed none of the nurses have bothered introducing themselves. Hello, basic customer service people!
  20. Since moving into the new unit thing have become much more formal with me having to confirm my identity before receiving treatment.
