  1. In an ideal world, playtesting would actually be about testing, not a vehicle for marketing.
  2. Ran another playtest session of Getting There in Time, concluding first episode. Endgame mechanic was slightly wonky, but was fun overall.
  3. I'm feeling really sluggish and unmotivated today. Even more than usual, I mean.
  4. Tried to generate some content for a potential new direction for my podcast today, but technology didn't want to cooperate.
  5. I'm glad to be back to gaming after such a long drought. A great session and my game is working well. Feeling very positive!
  6. Had a great first playtest of my game Getting There in Time. A ton of fun. Haven't completed episode yet, but really feeling like Dr. Who!
  7. Just realized the title of my last blog post is ambiguous. Oh well.
  8. I wrote a new blog post -- Short Games: Penny Wise and Pound Foolish? bit.ly/JCPzud
  9. I dislike it when someone makes a comment on the internet that's ambiguous about whether or not they want to be informed that they're wrong.
  10. @olde_fortran Frequent important releases sends a message to fans about value of game. Kind of like the net-present-value of an annuity.
  11. @olde_fortran I think D&D release schedule/strategy is as much about perception as product. People want to see a "supported" game.
  12. @jburneko I prefer "GM-less" so that people aren't tempted to play "find the GM" with the rules if that's not a useful exercise.
  13. @jburneko Some of them are Distributed GMing, but it's possible to structure a game so that "GM" is no longer a useful reference point.
  14. The "We shouldn't call them GM-less games, we should call them GM-ful games!" meme really bugs me. X and not-X shouldn't mean same thing.
  15. I wrote another game-design related blog post: Credibility Building Blocks bit.ly/LRT6r0
  16. I wrote a new blog post: The Game Designer's Equivalent of Adverbs? bit.ly/Ja3vev
  17. Looks like my gaming session is canceled again. Sigh.
  18. RPG podcast survey always makes me scrutinize my subscriptions. Give up hope on podfaded shows? Unsubscribe to shows I no longer listen to?
