  1. Badiou: postmodern philosophy is so fast + fragmented, it's indistinguishable from the market fray. Today, philosophy needs to go slow.
  2. OK, maybe I'm a bit late to this whole cloud thing but Dropbox is awesome: http://www.dropbox.com. So obvious, so easy, so clean.
  3. @DintVerge Is chaos a possible state? An ur state? An end state? A limit term? An immanent term? From what perspective does chaos happen?
  4. @mathpunk Kinda. It's more that we can say this is this or that something per se happened at all. Not a reason but A something.
  5. Structure, sense, always exists. Things and experience and ideas are structured. Structure does not determine but rather emerges as effect.
  6. Is chaos possible? It can be thought, perhaps, but can it be experienced? Does it ever exist? is it the very ground of being? I think not.
  7. I am writing this on the Hudson line to NYC. On my way to Brooklyn to wine and dine with the incomparable Marc Lafia. Publishing on the go.
  8. Change and form are not opposed. Everything is shapes in motion, interacting in an infinite calculus of becoming.
  9. Badiou: the desire of philosophy is 4 fold: revolt, risk, logic, universality. It took me some time to grasp this. Now I dig it.
  10. The din of ghosts past, present, possible, and future can be deafening.
  11. A preview of Marc Lafia's brilliant, beautiful, insane new film, Paradise, all shot in Brooklyn: http://vimeo.com/7784663.
  12. Grasping the difference between difference and opposition was key in my intellectual evolution. And, no, they are not opposed.
  13. Tequila is the tastiest rebuff of Hegel. No dialectic, no synthesis, no opposition: just difference in impossible harmonies.
  14. What I enjoy, among other things, about tequila blanco is that flavors do not unite but exist side by side — difference sans unity.
  15. I truly feel that a universal embrace of complexity as a general state of existence would do the world a load of good. But what do I know?
  16. @merckens I prefer the cleanliness of booze to the yeasty liveliness of beer. That said, I have been known to enjoy a stout. Rasputin it is.
  17. My boozes of choice: Partida Repo: http://tinyurl.com/ycvq4s6 & Old Potrero Rye: http://tinyurl.com/zyatu. So much yum.
  18. Rhythm is the architecture of speed.
  19. The best art assignment I ever gave: make art in the style of a given artist — but in a different medium.
  20. Were I a film professor, this is the first assignment I'd give: everyone cut the same film into a preview. Interpret, pace, flow, entice.
