  1. @landofwhimsy Yes I have and I totally agree. This was my introduction to the talents of Miss Green.
  2. @landofwhimsy I read the info at amazon on the link you included. Eva Green as a posh teacher... my temperature's rising already, lol!
  3. @landofwhimsy Thanks Capt.
  4. @landofwhimsy You've sold it to me! Eva Green is a beautiful & talented actress and Scott's offspring as director is intriguing. What genre?
  5. @landofwhimsy I'd forgotten about Mesrine, I'd like to see that one too plus Triangle, Antichrist, Broken Embraces. Not heard about Cracks?
  6. @landofwhimsy I don't blame you. I was going to see Avatar today but don't fancy it due to weather and pure laziness on my part, lol!
  7. @landofwhimsy What other films are you hoping to catch-up with before doing your list? I still need to see QT's Bastards & An Education etc
  8. @landofwhimsy I also want to see the new A Christmas Carol but you are right that would be another CGI 3D blockbuster.
  9. @landofwhimsy I loved the remark made on 'Kermode and Mayo' which summed the CGI aesthetic of the film and its plot as "smurf-a-hontas".
  10. @landofwhimsy Yeah, me too. I've missed a lot of recent releases during the second part of the year. Might try and catch AVATAR this week.
  11. Watched THE LEOPARD MAN, the last of the Jacques Tourneur directed horror pictures for Val Lewton and RKO. Very atmospheric and innovative
  12. Next up in V.Lewton marathon was I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE, a film I had been aware of & read about for years but never seen. Lived up to hype!
  13. Picked up the Region 1 Box Set from Warner. Watching films in order so began with the excellent CAT PEOPLE, the only one I'd seen before.
  14. Been off Twitter for a while due to work/life commitments - it is another massive time hole! Anyway, most recently been watching Val Lewton!
  15. @landofwhimsy Not heard much about '500 Days...'. Will look forward to reading your thoughts. By the way Michael any thoughts Films of '09?
  16. @landofwhimsy I fell asleep during the first one although I do concede on first seeing the 'auto-bots' I went WOW! Sequel has passed me by.
  17. Been re-reading Jonathan Rigby's 'English Gothic: a century of horror cinema'. A seminal study of British Horror. Thorough and accessible!
  18. Horror Etc Podcast is fantastic, it covers a diverse number of horror film related topics @http://www.horroretc.com/Archive%20Page.html
  19. Finally, bothered to sit down and see the first FANTASTIC FOUR (2005) movie. A rather bland and decidedly average Marvel adaptation. Reboot?
  20. Watched a double-bill of Ratner's X-Men 3 and horror anthology from Amicus TORTURE GARDEN on Sat night. Neither are outstanding but both fun
