  1. CodeProject now lets you sign in / sign up using your Google+ account.
  2. @gduncan411 Just saw channel9.msdn.com/coding4fun/blo…. Nice! Interested in spicing it up a little?
  3. Learn Windows Azure up and running at codeproject.com/feature/LearnA…. Nothing to actually see until 9am PST. #WindowsAzure
  4. We've halved the number of servers in use for the site yet we're running faster than ever. Thank you Moore's law. Serious costs savings too.
  5. Database failover clusters are my new favourite thing, ever. Just spent 1/2hr flipping the site back and forth between 2 live DB servers.
  6. HW: Main DB returned from the dead. Move off backup hardware tomorrow. w00t
  7. Dev: jQuery 1.5.1 has massive performance issues on IE6-8. Stick to 1.4.X if you have intensive javascript on your pages.
  8. Nothing worse than trying to work out why, at midnight Mar30 your code doesn't flip to Apr1, only to realise Mar31 comes after Mar 30.
  9. HW: IF you buy from HP and expect service, then don't. 3 weeks after our DB server died and we're still waiting for their "rapid response"
  10. Fairly major site update with some interesting juggling. Not all new features were turned on. Announcements Monday
  11. HW: Main DB server still in hospital. New RAM, new disks,, Power fine. Nothing is helping. Echinacea?
  12. We're opening up CodeProject to articles on Third Party products. A few provisos obviously, but it will be another great resource for members
  13. HW: Amazing the amount of hardware you accrue over the years. We have a SAN. Yay. Cannibalising old machines for disks. The need for speed.
  14. Site updated: mostly reporting changes. See http://www.codeproject.com/Members/Chris-Maunder for a write-up
  15. Dev: copy and paste 5 lines of text into IE9 and IE9 treats it as 5 input events, not 1. My head asplode.
  16. Dev: IE9 locks up if you have a javascript stack overflow while debugging. So much for process isolation.
  17. @tpdorsey Got your emails. I blame the timezones.
  18. Dev: The new clipboard restrictions on IE9 now make it even more annoying than Firefox to deal with.
  19. Back in Toronto. No sleep on planes so no sleep for 36hrs. woke at 2AM by guy shoveling snow next door. Talk about a feeling of dislocation
  20. HW: Just decommissioned our last Win2003 servers. 4 servers running the site split between Win2008 and Win2008 R2. All will be R2 soon
