  1. @Maxart Very good, I can get a couple of days of hard usage no problems. I use 3G more than wifi though, so not sure what impact that has.
  2. Will be heading off to beers & bytes at 6.
  3. @viirak WebSockets is the HTML5 standard, but there is a collection of hacks known at 'comet' which allow its use cross-browser today.
  4. Erlang show stopper, XML parsing is garbage. Chokes on non-ASCii chars. Looks like Python might get an 11th hour call up for this app.
  5. Good to hear the other side of the crunchpad saga - http://bit.ly/8AahYf, the TechCrunch version of events always sounded fishy.
  6. IM clients are the Hello World apps of Erlang.
  7. Don't think I'll bother reinstalling only difference I ever notice is that developing for flex/air is a pain in the arse on 64-bit linux.
  8. Just installed 9.10 32-bit instead of 64-bit on my laptop by mistake, wrong cd.
  9. @barcampSaigon Thanks for the tip, we've booked in there.
  10. @LukeInTH Cool, i'll give it a look.
  11. Can anyone recommend a chilled out hotel around Pham Ngu Lao Street Saigon with wi-fi included and preferably online booking?
  12. Off to #barcampsaigon on Friday with @jensendarren, @virak and other leaving on Saturday.
  13. @ThaRum Or Khmer language newspapers
  14. @LukeInTH Noticed the #crushit tag, then realised it's a book, is it a good read?
  15. RT @gkob: "If you aren't embarrassed by v1.0 you didn't release it early enough" http://bit.ly/6PXR3r
  16. Trying some gourmet dark chocolate with 85% cocoa, tastes very bitter rather than sweet, guessing it's an acquired taste.
  17. @marcelekkel Got to love how these problems get sorted so quickly in the developing world. Entrepreneurial spirit everywhere.
  18. Either way it will be better, faster and will enduce less of a WTF reflex than the current PL/pgSQL version.
  19. Was planning to rewrite my geo point clustering app next week in Python/Twisted, scratch that, now going to give it a shot in Erlang.
  20. #Emacs has an Erlang mode out of the box, but only a few naff 3rd party plugins for ActionScript. That says a lot about emacs.
