  1. @mxiqbal but is the ITIL world "giant" enough to fulfill its aspirations? A bolder move would have been to co-opt someone external.
  2. #ITSM I am unconvinced we have the right theory... ITSM says nothing useful regarding utility. That is left to SW engineering & Ent Arch.
  3. oops try http://ow.ly/A4t3 for Facebook. (other one wound up w/http;//^2)
  4. getting my Facebook site up to speed. I guess resistance is futile. http://ow.ly/A4rp
  5. wow my first FollowFriday. thanks @CarlosCasanova.
  6. @CarlosCasanova it is a constraint... a factor... but you can't do the multiplication because you haven't quantified the impact.
  7. Holmquist @ #GRC: "Framework is just another word for a structured approach to common sense." Love it.
  8. ITGI survey reported @ #GRC: "not enough staff" is a risk. Beg to differ.. this is a constraint... risks are impact x probability...
  9. attending #GRC
  10. wife playing Bejewled, 6 yr old playing World of Goo, me playing Plants vs. Zombies. 6yr old is playing the most mentally challenging game.
  11. It is Moose and Squirrel, Boris! & gloriously fractured fairy tales. True classics... thanks 2 Hulu... glad I have a 6 yr old as an excuse..
  12. @5Tool the whole must be seen as greater than the parts. optimizing the parts sub-optimizes the whole.
  13. thought for the day: is the idea of capability maturity fundamentally opposed to Lean thinking? sum(local optima) <> global optimum?
  14. just turning into a complete game junkie. Plants vs. Zombies, World of Goo, Cogs, Spore... sigh... I have avoided games for 20 years...
  15. @stacyrea yes... it's on my list and I think very timely
  16. @ReniFriis thx - interstd in your views as well - the first question of course for Lean IT/ITSM/ITIL is "what is IT value"?
  17. @john_schmidt what is the complete lifecycle of an information concept like "customer"? it spans centuries & involves linguistics...
  18. @john_schmidt data (information) lifecycle is the lifecycle of the concept as a whole. it frames the problem. all is subordinate.
  19. grooving on Ella & Joe Pass ... Tuck & Patti based whole career on sounding like these Pablo classic recordings http://bit.ly/2j6Nnw
  20. endnote costs too much. any better/cheaper biblio sw? something that can work w/Word, Framemaker, & producing Wiki cites
