  2. In 2008, Children's treated over 110,000 inpatients and nearly 500,000 outpatients in its 396 bed facility.
  3. 50 Years ago, CHB treated over 90,000 inpatients and over 85,600 outpatients and had 354 availible beds.

  5. Dr. Porter W. Anderso received the Lasker in 1996 for groundbreaking work in the development of the Hemophilus influenza type B vaccine.
  6. Dr. Sidney Farber received the Lasker in 1966 “his constant leadership in the search for chemical agents against cancer.”
  7. In 1954, Dr. John Enders was awarded the Lasker for “achievement in the cultivation of the viruses poliomyelitis, mumps, and measles.”
  8. In 1954 Dr. Robert Gross recieved a Lasker for performing the first operation for patent ductus arteriosus – a congenital heart defect. .
  9. In 1951 Dr. William Lennox was recognized with a Lasker for his work researching Epilepsy.
  10. Six members of the Children’s Hospital community have been honored with a Lasker Award, aka “The American Nobel Prize.”
  11. 1929 The CH News: "Last year the hospital treated over 16,000 children, and recieved in its various clinics over 58,000...nearly 200 a day.
